Message from Our principal

Hello and welcome to Alexandria International Academy!

We are an American/IB curriculum school. We are fully accredited by both Cognia (US) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) following rigorous inspections by those organizations, which means that our diplomas are accepted and highly regarded worldwide.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968. It is a modern system based on leading education practices. Its aim is to instill in children the necessary skills to live, learn, and work in a connected international society. The IB quickly spread and gained prominence in Europe, and is now found around the globe.

Many of the top schools around the world have adopted the IB curriculum, and we are no different, as it offers students the best education in both younger years and the best preparation for success in university and beyond. It is both a demanding and flexible system. Students who successfully graduate from an IB program are easily accepted into both US and UK universities, as well as other universities worldwide.

Throughout all grade levels, from pre-KG to Grade 12, our IB curriculum focuses on developing age-appropriate critical thinking skills, advanced learning techniques, and global perspectives. Our younger students very much focus on active hands-on learning. As students move into middle and high school, they are expected to move towards and complete projects of interest in all of their subjects. This creates students with advanced cognitive, research, writing, and analytical skills.

Statistically, KG and Primary students in IB programs have higher levels of well-being and achievement when compared to non-IB schools. Middle Years students also out-performed their nonIB peers on international standards. IB High School graduates are four times more likely to be enrolled at one of the top 20 universities in either the US or the UK. They have higher rates of earning university honors degrees when compared to national averages.

Beyond academics, we have a world-class campus, highly qualified teachers, and a friendly and supportive atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else. Please explore our website and social media pages to learn more about our school, and feel free to contact us or visit our school using the information at the bottom of the page.
